About Me

I'm a teacher. I love teaching. I'm a junkie for inspiration and love a good project.  I love curriculum design and have created programs for new schools and charitable initiatives—everything from Humanities to Science to inquiry learning, with a big focus on integrating the SDGs, DEIB, and STEAM. Any way to get these passions into the curriculum is my cup of tea!

In addition to the topics here on the site, I love being part of teacher education. I love speaking at conferences and sharing about the topics that excite me.  I founded a unique teacher’s conference that’s now in its 5th year—and it keeps growing every year. I’ve also recently joined an amazing creative educational think tank called The Thinkering Collective. We’re a nonprofit committed to humanizing education through curiosity-driven learning, community collaboration, and real-world impact.

I also have my own little charity where I make and sell dog bandanas to raise money for a local animal shelter here in Shanghai, China. I love sewing and crafting. I love traveling and being outside.

But most of all, I love my family—my sweet child, Jaelen, and my amazing wife, Amber. Only through them are all things possible for me. Without their constant love and encouragement, I wouldn’t be able to give that same energy to others.
